One day you will meet someone who wants to know everything
The one who will stay up late listening to your childhood memories
And talks of your hopes, dreams, and fantasies
The one who will explore every corner of your soul
And navigate every crevice of your warped mind
You may not know when you meet the one
But you’ll know when they stay
Happiness begins with you. Not with your relationship, your friends, or your job. But with you.
(via bl-ossomed)Chasing after a guy who’s not interested in you will rip the hell out of your self-respect. Better to face facts now because the longer you put it off, the harder it’ll be.
Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Call Me IrresistibleIf you stopped yourself every single time you were about to say, “I have to” and changed it to “I get to,” it might change your entire experience.
Kristen Armstrong (via perrfectly)Honestly the best piece of advice I can give to younger girls trying to figure life out is to completely ignore men. I’m not being quirky or cute when I say that, I mean it seriously. Ignore men’s judgments of you, ignore their insincere compliments, ignore their half-assed romance. Focus on developing yourself. Practice your art, play sports, do theater, volunteer, spend time with your friends, but do not put substantial effort into pleasing men. They’ll be there for you to pursue when the time comes and if you want to. But nothing will waste your youth more than fighting for male acceptance.
Whatever life may send your way — make the best of it. Don’t waste your time and energy worrying about it. Instead, find a way to do something about it. Learn from it, adjust to it, be strong, be flexible and be your best in every situation.
